His virus response pretty much sums up the year — and his presidency
Words escape me. The end of 2020 — the dumpster fire to end all dumpster fires — is upon us. And even though The Orange Oaf lost his throne bigly, and will be gone from our sight — if not our minds — in 21 days, he is still very much in the news. But not in a good way.
I feel like we need to hear from Mango Mussolini himself about the situation in which we still find ourselves. The Trump Virus — to date — has killed almost 350,000 Americans. That’s 117.5 times more than died on September 11, 2001.
The current occupant of the White House did not cause the Covid Times to descend upon us and fundamentally change who we are as Americans. But his institutional neglect — his utter incompetence — in handling it, in mitigating it, in invoking the tiniest amount of leadership to make the damn disease easier to handle — has led us to this. We have a vaccine — two, actually — but at the rate it’s currently being distributed, all of us will be vaccinated in approximately 10 years, give or take a month or two.
The salty and self-absorbed Cheeto-in-Chief strikes again.
So let’s just take a look at what the current occupant of the White House said in 2020 in response to a worldwide pandemic that could soon kill as many Americans — 400,000 — as died in World War Two.
